Main duties of the job
Deliver Exceptional Specialist Care
- Lead the way in providing safe, evidencebased care for plastics and cosmetic surgery patients.
- Make clinical decisions with confidence, supported by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
- Guide patients and their families throughout their journey from first appointment to final discharge.
Become Our Wound Care Champion-
Provide expert wound care & tissue viability support.
- Run engaging outpatient woundcare clinics and collaborate with leading external specialists.
Be a Clinical Leader
- Ensure safe, efficient patient flow and highquality service delivery every day.
- Help shape the service by contributing to performance metrics, business planning, and quality improvement.
Drive Innovation
- Design and deliver audits, training, education, and research projects.
- Present your findings and lead action plans that make a real difference.
- Play an active role in multidisciplinary team meetings
Keep Our Patients Safe Always
- Maintain clinical areas and equipment to the highest standards.
- Provide expert advice to colleagues and, when needed, outofhours support to ensure urgent care needs are met.

Purpose: Within the service(s), the Senior
Staff Nurse (SSN) will be a leading member of the team, working within their
scope of practice at all times under the direction of the
Outpatient Manager and Consultant Surgeon(s) to provide expert care and support
to patients undergoing outpatient and inpatient consultations and surgery.
The post holder will:
Be a positive role model for the service and to staff,
and will be a patient advocate, ensuring a positive patient experience.
Provide sound knowledge and support, including planning and delivering patient
care and supporting treatment and aftercare as required by the role.
Work within a governance framework and adhere to national/local regulatory
requirements and clinical and professional standards.
Under the supervision of the Outpatient Manager, will be responsible for supporting
the development of the service, ensuring effective utilisation of all
associated resources, providing efficient & effective day-to-day
operational management & coordination of the service, allocating resources
appropriately.
Be responsible for ensuring the Plastics/Cosmetics care & treatment areas
and associated equipment is safe, always fit for purpose and effectively
maintained.

- First Level Registered Nurse with supporting evidence of CPD and Revalidation.
- Healthcare degree or equivalent.
- Enhanced knowledge and experience of working within surgical nursing environment.
- Evidence of enhanced knowledge of wound care/tissue viability.
- Preoperative Assessment experience or willingness to undertake training.
- Phlebotomy/ECG skills.
- ILS training.
- Mentorship qualification.
- Proven ability to undertake multiple tasks under pressure.
- Excellent organisational planning and problem-solving skills, with a can-do attitude.
- Methodical & pays attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong patient centred approach.
- Sound computer skills e.g. Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity and ethics.
- Ability to work effectively within a team as well as be able to work autonomously.
- Experience of Audit or willingness to undertake learning.
