As a Scrub Practitioner at KIMS Hospital, you'll play a key role in the care of patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery, working alongside a dedicated team.

This is a full-time role working 4 shifts per week between Monday and Saturday.

Main duties of the job

Role Responsibilities

As Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner you will:

  • Work with a variety of orthopaedic surgeons as a scrub practitioner.
  • Assess, plan implement patient care and evaluate outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments e.g. Sterile Services, Wards, Imaging Department to ensure effective and smooth-running patient care.
  • Ensure that patients comfort, dignity, and privacy are always maintained.
  • Ensure that your own practice and the practice of others is within an ethical and legal framework.

  • Hold a Surgical First Assistant (SFA) Qualification.

Experience

  • Have post registration experience working as a Scrub Practitioner.
  • Be patient orientated with a focus on continuous service improvement.
  • Have evidence of continuous professional development and its application.

Desirable

  • Experience working as an Anaesthetic Practitioner.
  • Experience working as an Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner.
  • Experience of planning, co-ordinating and running the daily workload in a theatre suite, including the supervision of staff.
