Decontamination Technician – Sterile Services | KIMS Hospital Maidstone
Full Time Permanent | Competitive Salary depending on experience, in line with agenda for change.
Do you have a keen eye for detail? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced team? Are you looking for your first step into an operating theatres department? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
We are looking for a motivated and methodical individual to join our Theatres team as a Decontamination technician. You will be a key member of the clinical team and will support the Sterile Services team in ensuring that reusable medical equipment and instruments are cleaned, sterilized, repackaged, and redistributed to for clinical use.
This role is ideally suited to someone who is process driven, with a proven ability to work accurately whilst meeting tight deadlines and would like to start progress their career in a private healthcare setting.
You will work 4 days per week between Monday and Saturday on a rota basis. Shifts will be 10 hours long between the hours of 07:00 – 20:00 depending on the service need.
Main duties of the job
Role Responsibilities
- As a Decontamination Technician you will:
- Work to a consistently high standard and be responsible for your own actions
- Check in returned contaminated instruments and equipment after use
- Prepare instruments for decontamination
- Reconstruct Surgical instrument packs for reuse
- Operate the department’s electronic tracking system to log and track instruments into, through and out of the department.
