Vacancy: Medical Secretary

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm

Salary: starting from £25,000 per annum, depending on experience

Location: Maidstone

Are you an experienced Medical Secretary looking for an exciting new role? Would you like to work on behalf of some of the best consultants in the country? If so then we have an exciting opportunity for you.

Reporting into our Medical Secretary Manager you will be responsible for diary management, administrative and secretarial support and building the link between consultants, patients and KIMS Hospital.

Main duties of the job

  • Working within KIMS Medical Secretary Team you will be taking responsibility for coordinating patient appointments within various clinics and theatres for various consultants and sending relevant correspondence
  • Being the main point of contact for patient queries and efficiently respond as appropriate
  • Keeping records up to date and filing/scanning information for patient records
  • Liaising with various KIMS Hospital departments and NHS GPs as required to improve the booking and patient process.

Person Specification:

  • Have experience working as a Medical Secretary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to type at a minimum 50 words per minute
  • Previous audio typing experience
  • Medical Terminology Qualification is desirable
  • Accuracy and attention to detail at all times
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
