As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will work as an autonomous practitioner contributing to the provision of an integrated service for orthopaedic patients including the development and management of new services.  You will provide quality patient care throughout the hospital liaising with the multidisciplinary team within the hospital and appropriate external agencies.

You will be a registered nurse with extensive experience in Orthopaedics at a senior level, with a proven ability to teach, develop and mentor junior members of staff.

This role is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts will be Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Main duties of the job

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Support consultants with in and out-patient caseload management.
  • Work within the ward environment when required to ensure patients are reviewed. Escalate and refer patients to other specialities as required.
  • Communicate with patients on all aspects of their care, management, transfer and timely discharge and ensure full and complete records are maintained.
  • Participate in the development of new services and changes in practice.
  • Provide informal and formal teaching to all professionals, patients and carers
