Available Shifts: Monday and Saturday 07:30 – 18:00

KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent and we are recruiting.   We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate ODP or nurse to join our dedicated perioperative team as a Senior Theatre Practitioner.

We have 5 operating theatres in our dedicated Theatre Suite and our perioperative team work together to support elective surgeries over a range of medical specialties including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology and Gynaecology.

As a surgical care practitioner you will participate in operative procedures and aspects of pre and post-operative care of surgical patients under the direction of the consultant surgeon. Main duties of the job

Role Responsibilities include:

• Review patients on behalf of the Consultant surgeons in the in-patient and out-patient settings. This includes daily ward rounds with RMO, documenting in notes and co-ordinating treatment plans.
• Act as a first assistant to the operating surgery during orthopaedics surgery.
• Independently undertake surgical procedures under the direction of a Consultant surgeon.
• Perform and assist with wound closure, suturing, ensuring haemostasis and asepsis.
• Assist the surgical team in assessment and preparation of the pre-operative patients in clinic.
