Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Music Therapy Clinical Lead, you will be a core member of the wider Allied Health Professions team. The purpose of this role is to deliver individual and group sessions to an ABI and TBI population according to evidence-based practice and in line with HCPC standards of proficiency.

Clinical supervision will be provided in house by the Music Therapy Lead.

You will be supporting the development of the wider staff group to provide a consistent therapeutic and rehabilitative approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide evidence-based Music Therapy assessment and treatment to an allocated caseload.
  • To provide 1:1 and group interventions to patients to address a range of needs.
  • Contribute to MDT care planning and review.
  • Plan sessions ensuring they are person-centred, taking into consideration service users’ preferences, cultural, ethnical, and religious background.
  • Plan patients’ timetables and keep timetables up to date.

  • Record sessions attended by each patient in a timely manner in interdisciplinary electronic records.
  • Monitor, evaluate and adapt ongoing clinical work according to each patient needs.
  • Comply with relevant codes of practice, such as the HCPC.
