Main duties of the job
To provide specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) to patients undertaking Neuro Rehabilitation, as part of a collaborative and goal-driven interdisciplinary team, within this brand new service.
You will be providing a high standard of OT assessment, rehabilitation, and advice for patients with acquired neurological conditions and disabilities across various pathways including acute neurorehabilitation, neurobehavioural management and rehabilitation, complex care, and assisted independent living.
You will be supporting the development of the wider staff group to provide a consistent therapeutic and rehabilitative approach.

Renovo specialises in the provision of care for people suffering from complex conditions related to, or caused by, acquired/traumatic brain injury and other neurological illnesses, including spinal cord injury.
Based in South Newton village with picturesque outlook and peaceful surroundings; staff have access to the mature gardens, links to major roads from the hospital site,and free on-site parking.
Our interdisciplinary teams provide programmes of treatment, care and interventions with a goal-based approach. Our specialist staff includes medical practitioners, registered general and mental health nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, dieticians and rehabilitation assistants. Our teams work closely with patients, family members and other health professionals to support recovery and to promote independence.

Days / Shifts: Days - working 5 days out of 7
Hours: 40 hours per week, inclusive of a 30 minute lunch each day
Location:South Newton, Salisbury
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment of patients needs and strengths; including the use of formal and informal measures where appropriate; and provision of risk assessments.
- Responsible for providing supervision for Band 5 and OT Assistants.
- Utilising assessment results to development care plans, management strategies, clinical goals, and evidence-based therapy plans, which are then clearly recorded and communicated.
- Monitor, evaluate, and modify treatment plans to ensure effectiveness using outcome measures.
- Manage a caseload independently with supervision from the Lead OT.
- To be integral in discharge planning including liaising with community teams, social services and equipment providers.
- To ensure all clinical records are maintained to the HCPC and RCOT standard

The post holder will report to the Clinical Lead for Occupational Therapy, and work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary teams to offer a comprehensive, patient-centred service.
