Role Overview: Are you a dynamic and results-driven
finance professional looking for your next challenge? We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team and play a pivotal
role in driving financial excellence across our organisation.
Main duties of the job
- Oversee all aspects of financial
management, including budgeting, forecasting,
financial planning and reporting to ensure effective financial control and
visibility.
- Ensure the accuracy,
integrity, and timeliness of financial records, systems, and processes, including the maintenance of robust internal controls and
adherence to best practices.
- Provide strategic financial
insights and commercial analysis to support
informed decision-making, drive business performance and influence strategic
direction.
- Prepare and present monthly
management accounts, board reports, and year-end statutory financial statements, liaising with external auditors.
- Manage cash flow, working
capital, and treasury activities, ensuring the
business meets its financial obligations and supports future investment.
- Ensure compliance with all
relevant financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies, acting as the lead contact for HMRC and other regulatory bodies.
- Lead, supervise, and develop
the finance team, promoting a culture of high
performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support funding, investment,
and commercial decision-making, including business
case evaluation, pricing analysis and scenario planning.
- Implement and improve
financial systems and processes, leveraging
technology to enhance efficiency, reporting and scalability.

Strategic &
Financial Management
-
Support the Executive Team in strategic
planning and commercial decision-making, including business planning, policy
development, forecasting and financial modelling.

Oversee all aspects of financial
control, including the management of capital and revenue budgets, ensuring
accuracy, integrity, and compliance.

Lead the formulation and monitoring of
annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and financial
sustainability.

Prepare and present monthly management
accounts and year-end statutory financial statements in line with applicable
standards and deadlines.

Ensure full compliance with statutory,
fiscal, and regulatory requirements, including HMRC, VAT, and Companies House
returns.

Develop and maintain best practice in
financial systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring a robust internal control
environment.

Act as the main point of contact for
auditors, tax advisers, and funding partners.

Provide financial analysis and insight
to support operational performance, investment decisions, and strategic
initiatives.

Manage cash flow, working capital, and
treasury activities to ensure the organisations financial obligations are met.

Lead and develop the Finance team, creating a high-performing
culture with a focus on continuous improvement.

Collaborate with HR to ensure appropriate staffing and training
within the finance function.
Delivery & Operational Excellence-
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including internal
management reports, variance analysis, board packs, and commentary.

Lead the development and optimisation of finance systems and
processes, including purchase ledger, payroll, sales ledger, cash, banking, and
general ledger functions.

Own the statutory returns process, including payroll submissions,
pension reporting, VAT returns and year-end filing.

Plan and oversee the preparation of financial plans, budgets, and
reforecasts, ensuring consistency and rigour.

Monitor the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of finance
operations, seeking value for money and operational improvements.

Promote and embed strong financial governance across all
