Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our HR Department for a fixed term HR Advisor (maternity leave cover) to join our team in supporting the organisation with a full range of HR activities.Reporting to a HR Business Partner, the successful candidate will have a generalist HR background and be able to demonstrate experience of supporting managers in all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

The main purpose of the role will be to provide first line HR Guidance, support and advice to managers and staff at Shropdoc, on all employee relations issues such as attendance management, grievances, disciplinary and performance management.

Your advice will be consistent with Shropdoc policies and in accordance with best practice and current employment legislation, whilst upholding and promoting our Organisational Values of Quality, Kindness, Integrity, Community and Development.

The successful candidate should have the following knowledge and skills:

  • Hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification or above
  • Passionate about coaching and developing staff and managers, to consistently deliver service excellence, governance and compliance
  • Methodical, with a high level of attention to detail, whilst working at pace
  • Experience with HR software systems
  • Be energetic, articulate, a good communicator and a self-starter
  • Good IT skills, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Broad working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice

Main duties of the job

You will also have the ability to work to tight deadlines together with the motivation to drive improvement and efficiencies across our processes.
  • You will support the HR Business Partner in the implementation of the People Strategy, and acts as a pivotal HR advisory point of contact for Managers and Employees.
  • You will be expected to manage and coordinate elements of service provision, projects and procedures, to support the HR Business Partner and acting as the managerial lead in their absence.

Shropdoc is a not-for-profit company, established in 1996,originally for the sole purpose of providing urgent GP Out of Hours care to the population of Shropshire / Telford and Wrekin. Since then, services have extended and we now provide a number of clinical services across the 24-hour period.
