We invite applications for a full-time or part-time speciality doctor post in Ophthalmology at our Colchester and Chelmsford SpaMedica Eye Hospitals. This post is suitable for an experienced ophthalmologist who enjoys outpatient clinics, specifically pre- and post-op for cataract surgery, YAG capsulotomy, AMD review and IVI services. Job responsibilities

We invite applications for a full-time or part-time speciality doctor post in Ophthalmology at our Colchester and Chelmsford SpaMedica Eye Hospitals.

This post is suitable for an experienced ophthalmologist who enjoys outpatient clinics, specifically pre- and post-op for cataract surgery, YAG capsulotomy, AMD review and IVI services.

Applicants should be registered with the GMC, have completed foundation years of training or equivalent, and have at least three years of experience in clinical ophthalmology. Previous experience in ophthalmic surgery, intravitreal injections, and research or teaching experience are desirable. The appointee will complement the existing staff and take responsibility for the day-to-day functioning of the clinical service, working with clinical and managerial colleagues. There is no on call requirement in this post.

Recent experience in ophthalmology within the NHS.

Able to use the slit-lamp indirect ophthalmoscopy and check intraocular pressures

Ability to interpret OCT and ultrasound images

Desirable

Ability to use Medisoft or Medisight electronic patient record system

 

Professional and Multi-disciplinary team working

Essential

Ability to work well with colleagues and within a team

Desirable

Teaching and Training experience

Experience working in cataract pre-assessment clinics

              This role is primarily based at Colchester and Chelmsford, but travel to other SpaMedica Hospitals in the region may occasionally be required.
