Job summary
Centre for Psychology provides high quality psychological therapies within the NHS Talking Therapies community.
We are currently seeking someone to manage our Step 2 provision as our current post holder is going on maternity leave.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their managerial skills.
Additionally, you will be supported to enhance your professional skills as a High Intensity Practitioner.
You will be joining an enthusiastic and committed team of practitioners who are achieving good recovery rates in a positive and supportive working environment.
You will work alongside our Training and Development Lead; Employment Advisors and our integrated Long Term Conditions service.
Uniquely there will be scope to work within our sexual assault recovery service.
Centre for Psychology promotes a collegiate working and learning environment with a clear focus on the personal wellbeing of our practitioners.
Ideally we would prefer to recruit to a full time working pattern but part time applications will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The role combines managing our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and working as a High Intensity Practitioner.
The role offers the opportunity of gaining management experience as well as maintaining professional identity as a High Intensity Practitioner.
The post is to provide maternity cover for our existing post holder in the first instance.

Job purpose
This is a managerial role within our NHS Talking Therapies service within Surrey. The post holder will work within the NHS Talking Therapies service and manage the step 2 service provision. The post holder will work clinically at a step 3 level.
Main duties and responsibilities
Clinical
accept referrals within agreed protocols within the service
assess clients for suitability to CBT
formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programs for clients
educate and involve family members and others in therapy as necessary comparing CBT formulations with sensitivity and easily understood language
complete data agreed activity contact relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient
attend multidisciplinary meetings relating to referrals for clients and treatment where appropriate
complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service
keep clear records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols
work closely with other members of the service ensuring appropriate step up and stepped down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach
assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process and where appropriate liaise with employment advisers
Managerial
arrange and monitor work schedules for all members of step two service staff in order to provide a professional service
agree annual leave arrangements ensuring service continuity
negotiate and agree individual continuing professional development plans in consultation with the service CPP committee
participate in the annual appraisal of staff within step 2 service
participate in management meetings and liaise with other service staff to ensure service coherence
participate in management supervision
advise on resource allocation for ensuring effective service functioning
Training and Supervision
arrange and monitor supervision schedules for all members of step two service in order to provide professional service delivery
participate in the supervision of staff within the service
contribute to the teaching and training of mental health professionals and other staff as appropriate
Partnership
participate in partnership activities in line with service objectives with key partners

Maintain a research orientation in line with the service strategy and participate in service research activity undertaken

ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer standards, professional and accrediting bodies (e.g., BPS, UKCP, BABCP) and keep up-to-date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the Department of Health and Care
ensure the client confidentiality is protected at all times
