Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Clinical Lead in the provision of nursing care and will be part of a team that ensure our residents receive a high level of quality care in a safe environment.

The main duty of the role will be in supporting caseload management of the wider team, aiding in the titration, stabilisation and detoxification of those suffering from addiction. This will involve assessing, planning and implementing clinical care whilst managing clients general health needs and responding to clinical and medical emergencies.

Managing crises as first line intervention, assessing risk and safeguarding issues, responding and reporting appropriately within a risk management plan.

The successful candidate will be required to work some weekends and participate in an on-call rota.

Key Tasks and result areas are:

To identify the dependence and to formulate a diagnosis management plan in order to treat the disorder.

Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence, and to acknowledge limitations.

Providing health promotion, prevention, and treatments to patients

Prescribing medications when needed to ensure patient health and well-being (medication transcribing detox medicine only)

Support for preceptorship independent prescribing and interface with doctor and/or Medical lead.

Aiding effective care planning and risk assessing on site and other services.

Engage as part of the MDT and provide nursing leadership within the MDT

Alert other team members to issues of quality and risk

Assess own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision

Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the teams performance

Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet needs of clients

Effectively manage own time, workload and resources

Lead by example and support the team to manage their day by ensuing allocations are done by the lead nurse on duty

Provide supervision and training to other qualified nurses and student nurses.

To provide timely assessment of adults with substances misuse problems and provide care planning and support for their pharmacological and treatment plans.

To support colleagues in the management of complex cases through formal and ad hoc clinical supervision

To practice as a non-medical prescriber and deputise when needed on clearly defined management and clinical functions as required.

To take part in an on-call rota as required

• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Not on a SOVA formally POVA list (Safeguarding/Protection Of Vulnerable Adults)
• Enhanced DBS Check required
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

Essential

• Full Registration with the NMC
• Possess the right to work in the UK
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders
• Experience in leading by example and using initiative to reach a common goal
• Prescribing qualification

Desirable

• Experience in the non-profit or charity sector
• Masters Degree (Advanced Clinical Practice)
• Knowledge of the healthcare or addiction recovery sectors.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in working in teams, leadership, project planning and review
