Job summary
The Independent Nurse prescriber plays a key role at Bosence working as part of a Multidisciplinary Team providing comprehensive assessments, safe prescribing practices and 1to 1 support for service users using both drugs and alcohol as part of their Recovery Treatment Plan. You will need a strong understanding of the complex needs of people with addiction. Experience in strong team working across an organisation.
The role is varied and exciting that requires the skills and experience to prescribe to those receiving in patient treatment.
Main duties of the job
Key Tasks and result areas are..
To identify the dependence and to formulate a diagnosis management plan in order to treat the disorder.
Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence, and to acknowledge limitations.
Providing health promotion, prevention, and treatments to patients
Prescribing medications when needed to ensure patient health and well-being (medication transcribing detox medicine only)
Support for preceptorship independent prescribing and interface with doctor and/or Medical lead.
Aiding effective care planning and risk assessing on site and other services.
Engage as part of the MDT and provide nursing leadership within the MDT
Alert other team members to issues of quality and risk
Assess own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision
Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the teams performance
Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet needs of clients
Effectively manage own time, workload and resources
Lead by example and support the team to manage their day by ensuing allocations are done by the lead nurse on duty
Provide supervision and training to other qualified nurses and student nurses.
