We are looking for a RGN/RMN to join our team of Substance Misuse Nurses. This is a permanent full time 40 hour contract (part time will also be considered). You will work with a wide variety of professionals to support service users to detoxify or stabilise their substance misuse. We also have great benefits such as

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and pro-active individual to join our team in providing excellent care in our substance misuse detoxification unit. We provide comprehensive training so no experience is necessary. We will also consider newly qualified nurses as we provide a newly qualified training programme.
*Please note that the joining bonus of £500 for new starters is repayable if employment ends before 12 months of employment.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Manager and Clinical Lead in the provision of nursing care. You will be part of a team that ensure the clients receive a high level of quality care in a safe environment.
The main duty of the role will be supporting caseload management of the wider team. This will involve assessing, planning and implementing clinical care whilst managing clients general health needs and responding to clinical and medical emergencies.
Managing crisis as first line intervention, assessing risk and safeguarding issues, responding and reporting appropriately within a risk management plan.
In the absence of the Manager, Lead Nurse and Team Leader, you will assume the day to day responsibilities of running and managing the centre and supervising the other members of staff on duty.

- Adhere to NMC guidelines and code of conduct at all times particularly in relation to information governance, confidentiality, diversity, health & safety and medication control as defined from time to time
- Support the Manager and Clinical Lead in the development of the unit action plan in line with the Company's aims and objectives.
- Develop and maintain close liaisons and working relationships with other primary and secondary care health and social care professionals in the formulation and delivery of a clients recovery plan.
- Help ensure that the accommodation for residents, including catering, maintenance, and cleanliness is of a high standard.
- Undertake screening, triage/initial and comprehensive assessments and risk management plans of clients
- Plan and provide care for individuals undergoing detoxification programmes including using CIWA, BIWAS and COWS to assess withdrawal
- Administer medication and monitor effects, including undertaking clinical observations and reporting any abnormalities to the doctor(s).
- Comprehensively assess clients and construct, review and monitor recovery plans within a holistic planned approach.
- Provide case management and direct clinical care to a defined number of clients as agreed with the Centre Manager and Lead Nurse. This includes assessment, planning and providing specialist care.
- Respond to clinical and medical emergencies, and managing crisis as a first line intervention.
- Maintain admissions at a level that meet or exceed targets set by the Company
- Agree treatment and care plans with clients, and review them regularly.
- Undertake drug screening.
- Ensure case notes and other statutory records are up to date.
- Liaise with Community Pharmacies to ensure prescriptions are in place
- Participate in clinical audits, service reviews and the evaluation of service user satisfaction, implementing resulting recommendations, in order to improve and develop the service.
- Facilitate the transfer of clients from secondary to primary care services.
- Collate data and contribute to service reports.
- Occasionally supervise junior staff and volunteers in the proper performance of their duties
- Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required by the Line Manager and/or the Senior Management Team or Directors.
You will be providing 24 hour cover in shifts of 12.5 hours.
