PHL are an established and expanding healthcare organisation responsible for providing a variety of urgent and primary health care services across Hampshire.
An ideal opportunity for a General Practitioner (GP) to be responsible for the provision of safe and effective primary care appointments in line with GP Improved Access hub criteria, with full access to patient medical records. Our team of clinicians will provide appointments of an evening and weekend to local patients referred by their own GP surgery and 111.
The post holder will take a pro-active approach to their own CPD, contribute to continually improving the clinical effectiveness of the clinics and work collaboratively and supportively with all colleagues. You ideally will know how to use EMIS clinical IT system, but training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
In the planned primary care clinic the patient will undergo clinical assessment and review, examination, appropriate investigations requested eg x-rays, scans, blood tests; and a diagnosis and management plan will be agreed. On occasions onward referrals may be needed to specialities and an expectation of a credible referral should be made.
Hours:
Ringwood Clinic:Monday 18:30 -21:00
and Saturday 08.30 - 12:30
Lymington: Weekday evening from 18:30 - 21:30
About us
Appointments + is for local patients, registered in the West Hampshire area. Avon Valley can also book into Appointments + clinics at the Lymington Urgent Treatment Centre. Additionally, we are working closely with nearby partners offering the same service in Winchester, Botley, Romsey and Totton to ensure that patients can access locations and services which meet their needs.
Patients can continue to pre-book a weekend or evening appointment up to two weeks in advance via their practice and can continue to access physiotherapy, mental health and practice nurse appointments which are also pre-bookable.

The post holder will work as part of a
team for Primary Care Extended Access Service based in Ringwood.
The post holder will provide clinical
assessment and treatment for the delivery of a safe, efficient and reliable
clinical service. They will work closely
with the Clinical Lead, and Service Manager.
They will form links and develop relationships with secondary care and GP
Service colleagues and those working in the wider healthcare community. The post holder will ensure patients receive optimal care
in the correct setting within the healthcare system. Health policies and standard operating
procedures will be adhered to and, if relevant, refined.

- An experienced doctor with GP accreditation
- Current registration with GMC and NHS performers list (with no conditions preventing working or restrictions on practice)
- Experience of working in primary care and urgent care environment
- Record of on-going CPD and learning
- MRCGP examination or equivalent experience
- Sound knowledge of QOF, LCS, DES, CQUINs and use of appropriate coding
- Will have an understanding of the political agenda and drivers influencing primary care provision.
- Good leadership skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Good organisational and IT skills desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills written, verbal (Particularly listening skills)
- Clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability.
