Job summary
Do you want to make a difference in a specialised healthcare setting? You'll be working alongside the Police in custody suites caring for detainees.
As a nurse or paramedic, you can have a career within the criminal justice system helping some of the most vulnerable people in society.
We require Registered (Adult) Nurses / RGNs, RMNs (dual registered) or Paramedics with 2 years' post qualification experience, who want to deliver gold standard care and be a proud part of a team who has this vision with a real passion for developing clinical, forensic, and wider skills.
The role requires the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area.

What can I expect to earn?
£40,000
Full time work on a 4-shift on (2 days, 2 nights) then 4-shift off pattern, scheduled for 2 years ahead so you can plan your life. Other shift patterns available.
Average estimated overtime £3500 per annum
On top of this, you get a £1,000 completion bonus when you successfully complete 12 months of service.
Main duties of the job
What does the role involve?
The custody suites can be an energetic place to work, with no two shifts the same. Whilst detained, we provide individuals with all their physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs, as well as gather any forensic samples needed by the police to aid their investigations. Making careful records on our computerised systems, you'll be assessing whether people are fit to be detained or released, administering medications when needed, and working with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root cause issues that can prevent future crime.
