Mitie Care & Custody Training team are an integral part of Learning and Development, proudly supporting the Mitie Care & Custody Senior Leadership Team in their objective to ensure new and existing colleagues are appropriately trained to fulfil their role and developed to their full potential.
£40,000 Per annum
40hrs per week working Monday to Friday, however some hours outside of this are required at times.
25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
This is a national role with extensive travel across the UK, Mileage will be reimbursed at 25ppm
Main duties of the job
Your primary responsibility is to prepare, arrange and deliver specialist custody related health and welfare directed training to healthcare professionals and detention officers working in police forensic medicine (custody), Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs), Immigration and Custody Detention. Provision of training, supervised practice, clinical supervision, mentorship, and competency assessments for all staff in addition to continuous development of clinical skills and knowledge
You will work with Contract Managers and Clinical Leads to ensure that the Learning Management System (LMS) is kept up to date and that the content of LMS is monitored correctly.
To work as part of an integrated team with the Medical Director, Governance & Development Lead, Clinical Leads, and Contract Managers ensuring that services are delivered to the required standards, in accordance with the specific needs of the Company, and ensuring that Mitie C&C processes comply with national training and clinical governance standards.
As an experienced healthcare professional (HCP), you will be expected to work autonomously and have the clinical skills, knowledge and confidence required to support clinical staff and custody staff in their roles.

Training
To facilitate the
education of staff by working in conjunction with the Training Manager to
establish appropriate courses and educational activities that will ensure that
all C&C clinical staff will be kept up to date with relevant information
and practices in custody healthcare, and forensic medicine
To participate in
the creation of educational material and courses with particular emphasis on
the Introduction to Forensic Medicine Course currently run in conjunction
with Teesside University
To participate in
the delivery of the Introduction to Forensic Medicine Course on a regular
basis
To have an
understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in
the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages; researching new
technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and presenting this
research to senior clinical and managerial staff
To review the
content of the Mitie learning management system to ensure that the training
modules contained on the system are appropriate for the clinical needs of all
C&C clinical staff, and that all content reflects current clinical
practice
To work with
contract management to ensure that the Mitie learning management system is kept
up to date both in its content and that it accurately reflects the
achievements of all clinical staff in C&C

- FULL Registration with the HCPC/NMC at Level 1 Registered Nurse Adult or equivalent
- A minimum of two years experience in a police forensic medicine environment
- PG Certificate in Education or experience in delivering clinical training
- National Police vetting is required as well as an enhanced DBS
- Have been continuously resident in the UK for at least 12 months
- A full UK driving licence
- Competent in oral and written English
- Good ICT skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Desirable
- Previous line management experience
- Good IT skills
- Mental health experience and qualification
- Substance misuse experience and qualification
- Training experience certifications
