Do you want to make a difference in a specialised healthcare setting? Working alongside the Police in custody suites caring for detainees.

No previous forensic experience required as full training will be given.

As a nurse or paramedic, you can have a career within the criminal justice system helping some of the most vulnerable people in society.

We require Registered (Adult) Nurses / RGNs, RMN's (dual registered) or Paramedics with 2 years' post qualification experience, who want to deliver gold standard care and be a proud part of a team who has this vision with a real passion for developing clinical, forensic, and wider skills.

The role requires the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area.

What can I expect to earn?

• £40,000 Salary
• Full time role on a 4-shifton(2 days, 2 nights) then 4-shiftoffpattern, scheduled for 2 years ahead so you can plan your life. Part time roles also available and can be discussed.
• Average estimated overtime £3500 per annum
• On top of this, you get a £1,000 completion bonus when you successfully complete 12 months of service.

What does the role involve?

The custody suites can be an energetic place to work, with no two shifts the same. Whilst detained, we provide individuals with all their physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs, as well as gather any forensic samples needed by the police to aid their investigations. Making careful records on our computerised systems, you'll be assessing whether people are fit to be detained or released, administering medications when needed, and working with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root cause issues that can prevent future crime.

What are the minimum requirements?

• You'll be a qualifiedRN Adult, RMN(with dual registration),RGN or Paramedic
• Minimum of 2 years post qualification experiencein a patient-facing rolewithin a relevant field (General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Walk in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare, Mental Health, or Ambulance Service)as an Adult RN orRegisteredParamedic.
• 3 years UK residency

• You will need a current manual driving license with no restrictions to sometimes travel to other custody suites or local hospitals.
• All candidates are subject to police vetting checks.
