Bank Healthcare Assistant | | Band 2/3 equivalent | Spire Fylde Coast Hospital| Blackpool

Due to expansion in our services, Spire Fylde Coast Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a bank healthcare assistant. The successful applicant will work in a team thatprovides high quality evidence-based nursing care in ward-based settings. Varied shifts available.

Spire Fylde Coast Hospital is based in the seaside town of Blackpool. We have 3 operating theatres undertaking a wide range of procedures in Orthopaedics, ENT, Spines, Ophthalmic, Urology, Vascular, Gynaecology, Endoscopy, Plastics and General Surgery. Your role will be to assist in the cleaning and upkeep of wards, offices and shared spaces throughout the hospital.

Main duties of the job

· Assisting the team on the surgical ward in the provision of exemplary patient care

· Contributing to the support and monitoring of patients

· Identifying and reporting any significant changes that might affect the patient’s health and well-being to the appropriate person

· Assisting with the movement of patients in line with hospital policies

Who we're looking for:

· Previous experience of working as an HCA (or equivalent) in a clinical environment

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Experience in : ECGs, taking blood/blood pressures and patient observations

· NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care /Care Certificate

· Phlebotomy experience ideally but not essential as training will be provided

· Good team work ethic

· Enthusiastic and energetic professional

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential

· NVQ Level 3 is desirable but not essential
