Medical Laboratory Assistant | Pathology | Band 3 equivalent | Full time | Permanent Spire Southampton has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Lab Assistant to join the Pathology department.

  • You will be part of an experienced and supportive pathology team working within a state-of-the-art lab
  • You will primarily be responsible for the receipt and processing of samples for our Biomedical Science Laboratory. This will include a high volume of sample handling through to packaging and ensuring they are sent to the correct department

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities:

  • You will be part of an experienced and supportive pathology team working within a state-of-the-art lab
  • You will primarily be responsible for the receipt and processing of samples for our Biomedical Science Laboratory. This will include a high volume of sample handling through to packaging and ensuring they are sent to the correct department
  • Who we're looking for:
  • You will need to have strong administration skills and good computer literacy
  • Someone who is motivated and excels in customer service
  • We would also be open to someone with relevant science qualifications looking for their first opportunity in a Scientific role
  • Experience with Winpath or similar Pathology LIMS, and/or Biochemistry maintenance
  • Working Hours: Full-time, Weekdays 08.00-16:00 or 12:00-18:00 & Saturdays 08.00-16.00 as part of 37.5 hours per week. Contract Type: Permanent Benefits We offer employed colleagues a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package which includes but is not limited to:
