Spire Bushey Pathology Service based at Centennial Park has
an exciting full-time permanent opportunity for a Medical Laboratory
Assistant to join our friendly
close-knit team. Although ideally we are looking for experience in a
similar environment, we would be open to candidates with a Science degree or
qualifications looking for their first role in a scientific department.
Experience with Winpath or similar Pathology LIMS, and/or Biochemistry analyser
maintenance would be an advantage
Spire Pathology Services is one of the UKs largest networks of
accredited laboratories. In 2015, our 22 specialist laboratories and 200 staff
carried out more than two million tests from a simple full blood count to a
complex tumour marker. We deliver to agreed service levels including one-hour
turnaround times on specific tests where requested.
Our integrated network is supported by excellent logistics and full
electronic connectivity, meaning we can deliver cost-effective services of the
highest quality to our customers. We offer fast turnaround times, live
management reporting, online results and a unique customer feedback portal
providing live customer satisfaction.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of an
experienced and supportive pathology team working within a state-of-the-art lab
You
will primarily be responsible for the receipt and processing of samples for our
Biomedical Science Laboratory. This will include a high volume of sample
handling through to packaging and ensuring they are sent to the correct
department.
You will be working on a rolling rota basis covering shifts from 0730
to 2200 Monday to Sunday which include
on average one weekend in three
