Spire Gatwick Park is looking for a highly motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our high performing Theatre Team on a full time basis. This is your opportunity to join one of the UKs leading private hospitals and take your career to the next level.

Spire Gatwick Park Hospital is just a few miles away from Gatwick Airport. Central London and Victoria station are a 30-minute train ride away. The Hospital consists of two outpatient areas and a Bupa Health Assessment centre. There are two ward areas with 29 single rooms, a two bedded emergency recovery unit with a sixteen-bedded day care unit, and five single rooms. There are three operating theatres, two with laminar flow.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant in the Theatre Department you will be required to set up Theatres, assist the Registered Nurses in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will be required to ensure Theatres are stock checked and stocked appropriately. You will act as a chaperone support for Doctors and Nurses and circulate theatres as part of the Theatre team.

  • Previous experience of working as an HCA (or equivalent) in a clinical environment wards or theatres
  • You will have NVQ Level 3 and Health and Social Care
  • Care Competencies completed
  • Cannulation experience not essential but desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in : ECGs, taking blood/blood pressures and patient observations
  • Maintenance of quality care delivery
  • Understanding and contributing towards infection control
