Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Orthotist to join our team in Staffordshire.

As a Senior Orthotist, you will further develop your career by delivering high-quality, dedicated patient care to a broad caseload, including both routine and multifactorial needs. You will work autonomously within your team while providing comprehensive clinical assessment, prescription, fitting, and treatment planning to meet individual patient requirements.

Main duties of the job

In addition to clinical practice, you will proactively lead local service development initiatives and champion quality improvement projects under strategic direction. This includes actively contributing to, and leading, protocol development and service evaluation to enhance patient outcomes. You will also act as a key resource for clinical advice within the local team, sharing knowledge to support effective decision-making and service delivery. A core part of the role is mentoring and developing others offering guidance for less experienced colleagues, leading on student mentorship, and supporting graduates and work experience placements.

About us

The hub for this service is in an Opcare owned building based in Stoke-on-Trent, with a fully managed service delivered with a supportive and experienced team of Opcare administrators and clinicians. Services are also delivered in Burton-on-Trent, Cannock, Wolverhampton and Stafford. We provide inpatient, outpatient and community orthotic care for a wide variety of patients. There is a complex mix of Adult and Paediatric MDTs which provide a great opportunity to be exposed to interesting and varied caseloads. Alongside the general, paediatric, spinal and community clinics, the role leads and supports the day-to-day delivery of orthotic services within the Staffordshire region.

  • Demonstrate sound clinical experience across a diverse range of patient groups and conditions and applies expert problem-solving skills and clinical reasoning to provide evidence-based care.

  • Sound working knowledge of Rehapp.
