Job summary

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as Clinical Lead General Practitioner, with a focus on providing clinical leadership, support, and supervision to clinical staff to ensure consistency and quality of care for patients.

This role will primarily involve providing support to the Practice Manager and the wider CRGPA organisation to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice.

The working pattern for this role is 6 sessions per week (Tuesdays, Wednesday & Thursdays but could be flexible), one out of the six weekly sessions, will be a non-clinical session for the first 6 months.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that clinical standards are monitored and evaluated.

Clinical Responsibilities

In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.

Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.

Providing counselling and health education.

Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.

About us

Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance (CRGPA) formed as a new organisation in April 2015. The CRGPA is committed to supporting Primary Care in Coventry & Rugby and at Hodge Family Practice in Birmingham and is involved in designing and developing services and new ways of working. General practice is at the heart of all these decisions.

Hodge Hill Family Practice is located at Hodge Hill Primary Care Centre, Hodge Hill, which is in the East of Birmingham approximately 4 miles away from the City Centre. The premises were purpose built 10 years ago and the GP practice is co-located with a number of community services including physiotherapy, pharmacy and podiatry.
