Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance are seeking Healthcare Assistants to join a new Enhanced Access Service.
Working under the supervision of a clinician and strictly in
accordance with policies, procedures, guidelines
and protocols. The healthcare assistant will assist the clinical team in the
provision and delivery of prescribed
programmes of patient care in line with assessed competency, and necessary for
General Practice Health Care Assistant Duties.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include:
Annual Health Checks for patients
Measuring and recording:
- Blood pressure
- Pulse rate
- Height and weight
- Body mass index

Wound care/dressings within sphere
of competence
Cleaning and maintenance of equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Supplies, equipment and vaccine
re-stocking and stock rotation including consultation rooms
Vaccinations B12, Influenza, Pneumococcal and Shingles where trained and competent to do
so
Clip/suture removal
Preparing and maintaining
environments and equipment before, during and after patient care
interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of procedures
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health
and well-being
Undertaking patient specific
clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught
specifically in relation to that individual patient
Raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
