Job summary
The Management
Accountant provides comprehensive financial management support and advice to functional departments. The management accountant will be responsible for the financial
management support and
compliance for CRGPA & IPC and be
responsible for the Finance Transactional Team of 2 staff.
The detailed
production of monthly
reports, forecasting and supporting information is a key aspect of this role and ensuring all transactions are
processed accurately and in a timely manner to support the month end process
and to ensure quality information is available to the business to support
decision making.
Calculates and
processes month end journal adjustments to the general ledger and budgets
within the boundaries of accounting
standards, Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders, authorisation limits
and finance procedures.
Main duties of the job
Ensure that the
preparation of monthly information, including reconciliation and analysis is completed
within the specified financial timetable and reporting deadlines are adhered to.
Manage the Finance
Transactional Team which consists of 2 staff.
Provide cashflow forecasts
on a monthly rolling basis within the agreed timeline.
Complete quarterly group
VAT returns and submit to HMRC in accordance with the deadlines for filing,
ensuring accuracy of submission.Monitor service contracts and overseeing the non-contract expenditure. This includes;
Provide accurate
contract position reports
and contribute towards
forecasting and trend analysis
against these contracts, to ensure the CRGPA & IPC is meeting its statutory
and operational performance obligations.
Through forecasting analysis, identify areas of financial
challenge for CRGPA & IPC and discuss potential mitigations with the
budget holders and action those plans.
To provide costing/income advice and discuss
financial issues with a range of staff both internal
and external to the organisation.
Communicate complex
financial information to finance and non- finance professionals, both internal and external to the organisation, for example budget
holders, and other colleagues.
