Job summary
Coventry
& Rugby GP Alliance (CRGPA) is looking for an Communications & Engagement Manager who, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and
service leads, will be responsible for establishing and delivering internal and
external programmes that describe and promote the organisation and our
services; acting as the key point between the organisation and key stakeholders
through strongly developed relationships; and oversee and manage all aspects of
employee and stakeholder engagement.
Main duties of the job
· To lead on development and updating of the organisation’s communications and engagement strategy and plans.
· To lead and support on the effective delivery of the communications and engagement plans, contributing to the organisation’s strategic priorities. This will include liaising with managers and staff to identify the key messages for individual campaigns and deciding how to present these using a variety of media and to a range of audiences, in line with available budget.
· Co-ordinate, draft, edit and proof-read internal and external communications including, but not limited to: staff briefings, newsletters, media releases and statements, annual report and other corporate communications and engagement literature.
· Lead on day-to-day media relations activity, using own judgement including responding to routine media enquiries through the provision of agreed messages.
· Preparation of proactive and creative PR campaigns, including news releases, articles, patient stories and blogs to raise the profile and reputation of the organisation.
· Have a clear understanding of key stakeholders, and to have strongly developed relationships with them. This will include strong relationships within the local press and health system’s engagement and communications teams.

Main Duties
· Work in partnership with staff at all levels across the organisation to advise, influence and support them on communications issues, as required. This will include writing communications plans/approaches, for specific projects.
· Establishing mechanisms for staff to regularly provide feedback.
· Support the work with partner organisations’ communications teams to ensure constructive and cost effective communication campaigns in relation to joint projects or initiatives.
· Support the production of digital media content, to support both internal and external communications activity.
· Understand and analysis complex quantitative and qualitative information, for a range of reports.
· Provide expert communications and media advice to managers and staff requiring knowledge of communication and engagement techniques, approaches and procedures.
· Support emergency planning communication arrangements and play an active role in responding to any major incident, including drafting and dissemination of internal and external communication messages.
· Support the organisation’s response to requests for information.
· Accountable for the development and day-to-day management of the organisation’s external website and digital signage, using content management systems to update content and messages, and contribute to intranet and website developments to promote the role and function of the organisation and online opportunities.
· Accountable for the development and day-to-day management of the organisation’s internal intranet to update content and messages, and contribution to developments that supports good information dissemination and day-to-day running of the organisation.
· Implement and promote the organisation’s corporate identity and brand.
· Contribute to other communication and engagement projects, as required.
· Frequent use of a range of specialist software e.g. Mail Chimp and social media scheduling software.
· Where appropriate, fulfil the function of photographer and videographer for the organisation.
· Responsible for effectively managing the Communications & Engagement budget, physical assets and resources;
· Line management responsibility for the Communication & Engagement Officer.
Additional Requirements:
· Ensure departmental standards of practice are maintained at all times and contribute in a positive manner to the overall development of communication and engagement team.
· There will be occasional requirements to work outside of core working hours.
· Project a professional image of CRGPA at all times, abiding by established policies and procedures.
· The post holder will be required to travel to other locations and organisations.
