Job summary

To support the finance department to deliver an accurate, efficient, and confidential payroll service to Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance Ltd. The post is principally concerned with the accurate payment of authorised timesheets, posting of payroll journals, and assisting in statutory returns whilst complying with all internal policies and procedures. The postholder will also be responsible for the processing of the purchase and sale invoices, preparing bank reconciliations, and supporting the monthly management accounting process.

The post requires good IT skills and an ability to work to strict deadlines as part of a small team

Main duties of the job

Payroll and Pensions

  • § The preparation and processing of weekly/monthly payrolls including data entry, checking, and dealing with employee enquires (shift pay, holiday pay, Tax, NI, Pension etc)
  • § Assist in the preparation and processing of monthly payroll journals in line with monthly timetable.
  • § Managing the distribution of P45s ensuring these are issued to leavers of the organisation in a timely manner.
  • § Provide routine payroll information and reports to CRGPA staff and managers as required in line with confidentiality and security procedures.
  • § Always demonstrate confidentiality and discretion and always ensure GDPR compliance.
  • § Ensure that all complaints, comments, and suggestions are dealt with appropriately, in accordance with policy, resolving where possible and escalating to line manager when appropriate.
Financial Accounts

  • § Process purchase invoices and resolving relevant queries that may arise.
  • § Raise monthly sales invoices.
  • § Produce and update accruals and prepayments.
  • § Reconcile bank account on accounting system (SAGE).
  • § Assist in the production of month end and year end management accounts.

§ Managing the distribution of P45s ensuring these are issued to leavers of the organisation in a

§ timely manner.

§ Provide routine payroll information and reports to CRGPA staff and managers as required in line with confidentiality and security procedures.

§ Always demonstrate confidentiality and discretion and always ensure GDPR compliance.

§ Ensure that all complaints, comments, and suggestions are dealt with appropriately, in accordance with policy, resolving where possible and escalating to line manager when appropriate.

§ Ensure accurate and open communication of information and issues, including briefings and reports to line Manager and various stakeholders as appropriate.
