Solutions4Health are delighted to be offering the role of Psychosexual Therapist at Newcastle Sexual Health Clinic / Remote. This is a Part Time Permanent job with a salary of £46,148 - £52,809 depending on experience.
Solutions4Health have been commissioned by Newcastle City Council to deliver NHS specialist sexual health services, integrated community sexual health and contraception provision and psychosexual services for the people of Newcastle upon Tyne.
We are looking to find an experienced and enthusiastic psychosexual therapist to support the delivery of our service and seek applicants who have a desire for delivering evidence-based face-2-face and remote therapeutic interventions. You will be educated to a degree level and hold an equivalent counselling qualification which is recognised and accredited by the British Associated for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy. You will have completed a relevant post graduate professional qualification in psychosexual counselling approved by COSRT.
Our psychosexual therapy service will provide assessment and treatment for individuals and their sexual partners who are experiencing difficulties with their sexual functioning, where the primary cause is psychological, or where the psychosexual problem has developed because of physical pathology.
Main duties of the job
To manage an appropriate clinical caseload and waiting times, ensuring timely access to assessment and treatment.
To be responsible for planning own day-to-day clinical work, including clinics, meetings and appointment scheduling.
To provide specialist assessments based on the interpretation and integration of complex information from different sources, such as referral sources, interviews and self-report measures.
To provide specialist psychosexual counselling/therapy tailored to the needs of individuals and sexual partners.
To participate in joint working with other healthcare professionals as required and agreed with the Head of Operations.
To provide service audit and evaluation in accordance with the specifications set out by the local commissioning team.
To provide advice, guidance, consultation and teaching, as required, on matters relating to psychosexual counselling/therapy, to other professions.
Responsible for providing complaint responses regarding the Psychosexual service.
To contribute to the development and operation of the sexual problems integrated care pathway, particularly in relation to the provision of psychosexual counselling/ therapy.
To participate in service evaluation and audit programmes in relation to own practice and the needs of the department and local population when required, including monitoring adherence to clinical governance guidelines and standards.
In accordance with good practice guidelines, the post holder should take part in clinical supervision from an appropriate practitioner. This involves the guidance and discussion of clinical work, research and audit.
To engage in an appropriate programme of personal development particularly in sexual medicine, and to document this, in adherence with the requirements of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) or Institute of Psychosexual Medicine.
