Solutions4Health are delighted to be offering the role of Senior IT Support Technician. This is a Full-time role with a salary of £30,000 to 32,000, depending on experience.
Role Summary
The IT Support Technician serves as the first point of contact for all IT-related software and hardware incidents and service requests.
Key responsibilities include managing the IT ticketing system, prioritizing high-impact tasks, and taking appropriate action. As the majority of users are based offsite, effective communication will be a critical aspect of this role.
Strong technical knowledge of operating systems, software, and hardware is essential, as the role involves coordinating the building and allocation of new assets to users.
A creative yet organized approach to problem-solving, combined with technical expertise, is vital to effectively address user needs in a rapidly growing business. The IT Support Technician will also facilitate smooth collaboration between 1st and 2nd line support teams.
The role requires working at least two days per week from the Head Office in Reading.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide on-site and remote technical support to end users.
Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
Set up and maintain user accounts and profiles across multiple platforms and systems.
Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve HW and SW faults.
Liaise with external service providers’ support departments.
Support the rollout of new systems, applications, and updates.
Manage the Helpdesk ticketing system and ensure that all reported issues are triaged appropriately to the correct area of the support process, whilst maintaining regular contact with the requester.
Create and maintain professional documentation.
Assist in the procurement of IT equipment.
Manage the IT Asset Register and maintain an accurate IT asset inventory.
Provide regular progress updates to the manager and escalate issues/ risks to the manager in a timely and clear fashion.
Use technical knowledge to make recommendations for improvement to the overall function of the IT department.
Contribute to the business information security audit work by undertaking activities as specified by the manager and in collaboration with the information governance lead.
Carry out any other duties that relate to this post as required by the business.
