Job summary
Contributing and participating in the delivery of a comprehensive Health Visiting service in line with the Healthy Child Programme and local service specifications and service model for health visiting that meets the public health needs of local communities.
Contributing to the delivery of Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), including improving health and life chances for children and families and safeguarding those at risk.
To deliver the role in accordance with Solutions 4 Health values and behaviours.
Main duties of the job
Carry out activities
of the Healthy Child Programme as delegated by the Health Visitor within the team in
accordance with agreed protocols, acting on own initiative as appropriate to level of
knowledge.
Advise parents/carers on positive parenting skills
including understanding and managing child behaviour, introduction to solids
and nutrition, play and stimulation. Speech and language development, sleep
management and toilet training, ensuring that advice is evidence based to
facilitate school readiness.
Support families in understanding key developmental
milestones, including gross and fine motor skills.
Work with specific children and families, in the
home, clinic setting or school/nursery according to their individual care plan
as agreed with the Health Visitor.
Plan, implement and evaluate health promotion
activities, taking responsibility for certain topics once training received and
competency assessment signed off within an agreed timeframe.
Work in a collaborative manner with Childrens Centre,
nurseries, parents, members of the Primary Health Care Team and other agencies.
Have an awareness of safeguarding issues, identifying
where there is a cause for concern and taking appropriate action in accordance
with safeguarding guidelines, including informing a senior member of staff or
any concerns.
Regularly travel and ensure relevant equipment is
available
at locations, in line with health and safety
requirements.

We are looking for Healthcare professionals with excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, to facilitate, implement and support innovative, evidenced based practice in service delivery, as well as having the ability to work autonomously as part of an integrated skill mix team.
Required Skills/Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a N.N.E.B / BTEC Diploma in Child Care or NVQ in Child Care level 3 or equivalent.
