Ellern Mede Derby are looking for an appropriately qualified (HCPC registered) psychologist with an enthusiasm for working with individuals with eating disorders. The post will be appointed to dependent upon experience and as such applications would be welcomed from both clinicians who are well established in their career, as well as more recently qualified clinicians who would like support to develop expertise within this specialist field.
As the service in Derby is new it is anticipated that the psychology post would be integral in supporting and developing the team as well as in providing a clinical input to patients and their families. It is anticipated that the post will be supported by an assistant psychologist who with appropriate supervision would assist with service evaluation, outcome data collection and clinical interventions. Supervision, guidance and mentorship for the post is available within the company from the existing psychology team as well as the senior MDT and leadership team. Excellent CPD opportunities are available.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Clinical Psychologist will lead
the psychology team at Ellern Mede Derby and will work closely with the
Multi-Disciplinary Team. Specialist psychology interventions and therapeutic
relationships play a huge role in supporting vulnerable young people to
overcome their eating disorder and prepare for life outside of hospital.
Your
professional relationship with the young people will be close, but boundaried,
supportive, but firm with the eating disorder. You need to be psychologically
strong, and empathic. You will encounter difficult interactions.
You will have
the full support of your manager, team and regular supportive supervision, as
well as access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
