Job summary

We are looking for individuals who are driven and committed to supporting patients with specialist eating disorders. We have a higher proportion of staff to patients than any other UK specialist eating disorder provider, which enables our multi-disciplinary teams to provide close personal care to all of our patients.

As well as one of the most competitive salary packages in the industry, this role is also eligible for a guaranteed Nurse Bonus Scheme: £2,000 paid on the 1-year work anniversary and a further £2,000 paid on the 2nd year work anniversary.We offer competitive salary packages to attract the best staff. Main duties of the job

1 CLINICAL

1.1 To work as a competent practitioner and role model in the provision of therapeutic care and treatment to the young people in the service and their families, under the direction of senior nurses, and consultant psychiatrists.

1.2 To demonstrate creativity, thoughtfulness, sensitivity and respect to young people and their families at all times.

1.3 To ensure that the views and opinions of the young people are actively sought and used to support partnership in the planning and delivery of family centred care.

1.4 To liaise with families to ensure seamless patient care.

1.5 To act as associate / key-worker to young people, and to participate in family / review meetings in this role as required.

1.6 To participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care plans and treatment decision-making processes.

1.7 To possess adequate knowledge of nursing skills, and to provide a welcoming, safe and friendly environment for all young people and families. To take appropriate responsibility for ensuring the internal and external physical environment is organised and developmentally appropriate.

2 MANAGERIAL AND LEADERSHIP

2.1 The post holder is expected to show good use of initiative, discretion, and delegation.

3 ADMINISTRATIVE

3.1 To understand the importance of and to ensure that all clinical and legal documents are completed accurately.

3.2 To take an active role in maintaining effective communication with all professionals involved with the care and management of the patient group

3.3 To provide mentorship to members of the nursing team

3.4 When required, to co-ordinate shifts.

4 MONITORING, EVALUATION, RESEARCH AND TEACHING

4.1 To contribute to the education of learners and parents as appropriate

4.2 To be aware of and demonstrate practice based on knowledge of current advances in this field of nursing practice and research.

4.3 To participate in teaching, developing and publishing child and adolescent / eating disorders nursing work as appropriate

5 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

5.1 To regularly participate in clinical supervision, and to attend staff training/ teaching as required.

5.2 To work within the UKCC professional code of conduct at all times.

5.3 To be responsible for self-development through professional and managerial appraisal systems.

6 GENERAL
