Job summary
We are currently recruiting for a qualified, UKCP registered, Family & Systemic Psychotherapist for our hospital in Barnet, North London. The post would be suitable for someone with CAMHS experience who would feel confident about working independently but also enjoys close collaboration with multi-disciplinary colleagues within an inpatient setting. The position would suit a clinician who can be flexible, can manage the sensitive interface between families and the wider professional team and would welcome an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the treatment and recovery of young people with this challenging illness.
Main duties of the job
The post- holder will be expected to work as part of a Tier 4 child, adolescent and young adult inpatient service providing treatment for patients and their families with complex eating disorders and other complex mental health problems.
The post-holder will be expected to contribute systemic thinking to MDT meetings and to provide special advice and consultation to assist in formulation and treatment. The post-holder will provide support and supervision to peers and junior colleagues and facilitate a reflective practice group for nursing and healthcare staff.
The post-holder would be expected to manage their own caseload (including contributing reports, attending meetings and keeping timely and accurate clinical records) and to seek advice and consultation as appropriate.
The post-holder would be contributing to the development of best practice within the service by exercising the skills of a reflexive and reflective practitioner, as well as taking part in regular supervision and appraisal.
The post-holder would also be expected to liaise with all relevant staff members regarding the care and treatment of patients.
The post-holder would work collaboratively with colleagues, including joint therapeutic work if needed to assist in engagement and treatment; they would also be able to communicate in a sensitive and skilled manner with patients and their families and support patients and families through the process of transition back to the community.
The post-holder would also be expected to facilitate a support group for parents.
