Clinical Nurse Specialist (Childrens)

• Location:Peterborough, (PE2) with travel across Nottingham, Leicester & Lincoln
• Salary:£38,000 - £42,000 per annum
• Hours:Full-time, Monday to Friday

Apollo Home Healthcare is looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated team.

This is a fantastic role for a Registered Nurse who thrives on working in both office and community settings, providing expert clinical care and leadership.

About This Role

In this role, youll enjoy a balance of office-based and community-based responsibilities, applying your clinical skills in a diverse and rewarding environment.

Office-based work (23 days per week) in Peterborough (PE2):Here youll work from our local office alongside our operational team. Duties include carrying out clinical assessments, care planning, delivering training, staff supervisions, and contributing to client reviews and staff appraisals all essential for ensuring our care services remain safe, effective, and person-centred.

Community-based work (23 days per week):Youll travel to clients homes across Nottingham, Leicester, and Lincoln, conducting new referral assessments, spot checks, risk assessments, and competency assessments. This gives you the chance to build meaningful relationships with service users and their families.

This dual role offers variety, flexibility, and the satisfaction of seeing the direct impact of your expertise on people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take clinical ownership of your client caseload, creating and managing bespoke care plans.
• Conduct assessments and reviews of complex care packages
• Develop and manage personalised care plans
• Lead and deliver training to healthcare staff on clinical procedures
• Supervise and appraise healthcare assistants
• Ensure safe practice through audits, risk assessments, and quality monitoring
• Support recruitment processes and staff induction
• Maintain full compliance with CQC standards and NMC code of practice
• Build strong relationships with clients, their families and care teams.
• Ensure a compliant, high-quality, person-centred care service.

What Were Looking For:

• NMC Registered Nurse (Childrens)
• Minimum 2 years post-registration experience
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car
• Confident in tracheostomy, ventilation, enteral feeding, and suctioning care for children
• Strong communication skills

• A valid NMC Pin, 2 years post-qualification experience

• Airway Management (Tracheostomy Care)
• Ventilation Management
• Enteral Feeding
• Suctioning
• Experience of delivering clinical interventions with children
• Knowledge of spinal injury care, acquired brain injury care, and neurological conditions is beneficial however, we do offer additional training to enhance your clinical skills.
