Healthcare Assistant

Job summary

Apollo Home Healthcare are seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants to support an adult male with his complex and clinical care needs on a 1:1 basis.

We are looking for compassionate and committed Healthcare assistants in Ashton under Lyne, who are passionate about delivering the highest quality one-to-one care for our service user, building positive relationships with them and their family while enabling him to live as independently as possible in his home.

Our service user is a gentleman in his 60s who lives with his wife in Ashton under Lyne and requires assistance throughout the day and night on a 1:1 basis to support his complex care needs.

At home he enjoys listening to audio books, watching TV dramas such as police action and border patrol and spending time engaging with his wife and care team. He is also involved in the MND support club for his local area which he thoroughly enjoys.

Our ideal care team will show patience and understanding and have effective communication skills to understand and interpret his needs and wants.

Main duties of the job

Throughout the day you will support with his daily tasks such as washing, dressing, moving, and handling and attending to his clinical care requirements. You will assist him in enjoying his hobbies and interests, daily routines and promote social interaction.

Throughout the night your role will be to assist with his personal care, repositioning and attending to his clinical care needs when required. You will offer reassurance ensuring his comfort and well-being and be there to promote a peaceful environment as at times he can become quite restless overnight.

We have the following shifts available;

• Part Time Available - 2 shifts per week
• Days -Mondays and Tuesdays- 8:30am 7:30pm
• Days - Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays- 8:30am 5:30pm
• Waking Nights- Sunday to Thursday- 11:00pm 8:00am

Weekdays: £11:00 per hour (Approx. £121.00 per 11-hour shift)

Weeknights: £11.50 per hour (Approx. £103.50 per 9-hour shift)

Weekends: £12:00 per hour (Approx. £108:00 per 9-hour shift)

Bank Holiday: £16.00 per hour (Approx. £176 per 11-hour shift)
