We have an opportunity for a Lead Nurse to join our young service users care team in Leominster.
Our service user is a young teen who receives 24/7 care at his family home in Leominster.
Our service user is a young adolescent who thrives on positive and fun interactions.
He enjoys taking part in arts and crafts activities, loves getting out and about, socialising with his family and friends.
He is unable to communicate verbally and will expresses his wants and needs via the use of communication aids.
Soon, he will soon be starting secondary school and is looking forward to building new relationships with his teachers and peers.
everal of his specialist appointments do require you to travel and therefore, you must be flexible to accompany him to Stoke Mandeville and Birmingham Childrens Hospitals. At times, this may also include overnight stays away from home.
Similarly, applicants must be happy to accompany him on trips away and family holiday.
Hotel costs will be covered, and a contribution towards travel is available and can be discussed further with successful candidates.
Main duties of the job
As his Lead Nurse, you will play a key role in training and signing-off all care staff as competent, ensuring that his team are clinically trained to meet his needs.
In addition to this, you will provide ongoing support and supervision to keep staff up-to date with best practice guidelines and identify any further training needs.
We are looking for a flexible and versatile individual who can adapt to the needs of our service user,
As well as the above, your role will include a mixture of hands-on care, auditing and transcribing of paperwork and Medication Administration Records (MAR charts), checking and ordering of stock and accompanying our young service user to any scheduled appointments.
Shifts available:
- 24 hours per week
- Shift times and working days may vary
This is a part time, permanent role, offering a very competitive pay rate of £37.00 per hour.
- £46,176 per annum, based on 24 hours per week
- £69,264 per annum, based on 36 hours per week (FTE)
Our ideal applicant will be trained in the following clinical interventions:
- Ventilation Management
- Tracheostomy care
- Suction via tracheostomy
- Nutrition and fluid via gastrostomy
- Bowel Management
- Intermittent Urinary Catheterisation
- Epilepsy Management
- Medicine management including nebuliser administration and oxygen
- Cough Assist
