Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants to support a teenager with his complex care needs.

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants who are passionate about their job, enjoy delivering one to one support and who can build positive relationships with our service users and their families.

Our service user is a sociable and happy young man who enjoys attending school and spending time with his family, he enjoys hugs from his care team and responds well with praise and being in a positive environment.

He likes watching TV, especially cartoons and action films and sensory toys such as lights and bubbles.

Playing with musical instruments, listening to music, and dancing are some of his favourite things to do. Play time is very important in this role help with his development.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be supporting him throughout the night on a 1:1 basis, he will usually be in bed around the time you start your shift, he will listen to smooth radio or classical music until he drifts asleep.

Throughout the night you will be there to promote a restful environment to ensure he has a good night sleep for a day full of activities.

It would be advantageous that you have experience in waking nights, however this is not essential.

He is nonverbal and will communicate using choice cards and a recording device. It is important his Healthcare team can understand and anticipate his wants and needs to his best interests.

Our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team.

We have the following shifts available:

• Part Time Nights
• 10pm-8am
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
• Occasional weekend work

Weeknights £13.00 per hour Approx. £130 per 10 hour shift
