We're looking for a compassionate and proactive individual with experience in health or social care, ideally within a rehabilitation or respiratory setting. You'll be confident leading group sessions both face-to-face and virtually and have the communication skills to support and motivate patients in managing their conditions. With a flexible and patient-centred approach, you'll work effectively under indirect supervision, following agreed protocols while using your initiative where appropriate. You'll need to be IT literate, organised, and comfortable managing both clinical and administrative responsibilities. A full UK driving licence with access to transport are essential, as the role involves community-based work across South and Southeast Staffordshire.
Main duties of the job
Were looking for a dynamic Pulmonary Rehabilitation Technical Instructor (Bank) to support our education services across South and Southeast Staffordshire. You will work in community settings and virtually to deliver pulmonary rehabilitation interventions to patients with respiratory conditionsincluding those recovering from post-COVID syndromeunder the guidance of registered practitioners.

Any reasonable duties to be undertaken to achieve the following:
- Delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation groups face to face and virtual, contacting patients, and assisting with the service administration for the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service across South and South East Staffordshire
- Work will be carried out in community settings e.g. village halls/equivalent or virtually.
- Undertake highly skilled support work with people who have, respiratory disorders including post covid syndrome if patients meet the service criteria
- The post holder will (in allocated time) act as a point of contact for all communication for the team.
Principal Responsibilities
- Working to agreed competencies and protocols and guided by the registered practitioners, the post holder will implement a pulmonary rehabilitation plan i.e. carry out planned intervention as prescribed by registered practitioner or make minor adjustments to this following agreed protocols and guidelines liaising with the registered practitioner as necessary (as per service competencies) to patients and also their carer/relatives where relevant
- The post holder will be working under indirect supervision of the registered practitioners in the team. This will involve taking responsibility for an identified and delegated workload following screening and /or assessment by a registered practitioner.
- Leading and assisting with group exercise and advice sessions
- Monitoring progress and feeding back to the registered practitioner.
- Be involved in the assessment of clinical outcome measures on both pre and post programme assessments and report on Minimal Clinical Improvement Difference (MCID) in post programme communication to GP
- Facilitate patients in completing their Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) both at pre-and post assessment
- Capture patient evaluations and feedback
- Audit and evaluate programme delivery and effectiveness
- To use motivational skills to encourage patients to self-manage their conditions.
- Provide advice and information to individuals on how to manage their own condition i.e. support patients with self care and self management of their condition. This may be carried out individually or in groups. This includes raising awareness of health and wellbeing.

- To utilise the Spirit clinical information system to retrieve patient information, register referrals and discharges, deal with tasks, type and send letters

- To be a first point of contact for service users, answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries in a sensitive manner to document and convey messages to the team

- To process audit statistics for relevant personnel and assist with inputting audit data onto the ongoing national audit for pulmonary rehabilitation.
- To treat all patients as individuals, respecting their privacy and dignity at all times.
