Job summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Registration Authority (RA) Analyst to join our busy team. This role is crucial in ensuring secure and efficient access to NHS systems by issuing, amending, and revoking NHS Smartcards in accordance with national processes. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team contributing to the ongoing development of the Registration Authority service.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for delivery of a consistently high standard of Services to allsupported organisations
  • To understand and make all reasonable efforts to deliver a service within the quality and performance levels agreed with each supported organisation as identified within the IT Service Specification
  • To answer and respond to service desk calls, reported incidents and problem within Service Desk Management System to the quality standards set for the service and to agreed timescales as evidenced within the IT Service Specification for Services including Registration Authority, UIM and others associated with NHS Smartcards
  • Ensure all data recorded (electronic or manual) in the completion of your duties is accurate, complete, and recorded in a timely manner to meet the requirements of the business
  • To report any identified risk or breach of IT security immediately
  • To work within agreed quality and service level standards for all supported organisations
  • To exercise particular care over any enhanced level of security access levels available to the post holder to IT infrastructure or systems, not disclosing the authentication & security information to any other party (internal or external).

Job responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will be required to autonomously manage the registration authority(smartcard) accounts, including the issuing and configuration of new smartcards. The post holder will also provide support to the RA Manager in the development of the service and will provide general support to the Information Governance Team.

The post holder will have key relationship with the following teams, departments, and organisations:N3i

  • N3i
  • GP practices
  • Primary Care Networks (PCNs)
  • NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership
  • Other providers who N3i are delivering services to.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities: -

  • To be responsible for delivery of a consistently high standard of Services to allsupported organisations
  • To understand and make all reasonable efforts to deliver a service within the quality and performance levels agreed with each supported organisation as identified within the IT Service Specification
  • To answer and respond to service desk calls, reported incidents and problems within Service Desk Management System to the quality standards set for the service and to agreed timescales as evidenced within the IT Service Specification for Services including Registration Authority, UIM and others associated with NHSSmartcards

  • To provide support to system users, Registration Authority Sponsors and other Registration Authority Agents
  • The post holder will be autonomously responsible for creating, amending and revoking user access accounts for systems identified in the Authority /Smartcard in compliance with the operating standards and information security standards in place
  • The post holder will be required to communicate complex information with regards to issues with the smartcard or with regards to any access that needs adding ontothe card
  • The post holder will communicate via e-mail and telephone with a range of staff in all posts but primarily General Practice staff including GPs
  • The post holder will be required to produce complex management reports from the RA system and audit reports to evidence actions completed

Planning and Organisational Skills

  • The post holder will be required to manage their daily tasks including wherenecessary arranging appointments and organising visits to sites and practices

Physical Skills

  • Keyboard skills and experience of using a range of software are required with a high level of accuracy for maintaining/ coordinating key administrative functions
  • Travel to meetings as and when required to undertake the role
Policy and Service Development Implementation

  • To contribute to and support where required activities needed for any external accreditation or authorisation requirements (including IGT) necessary to the sustainability of the business
  • To work integrated with IT and Operational Services policies and procedures for newly recruited staff
  • To ensure Standard Operating Procedures in place are complied with and the line manager is advised where there is evidence that these require review
  • To ensure any change control procedures applicable to work carried out are complied with fully and your line manager is advised where there is evidence that these require review

Responsibilities for Research & Audit

  • To be responsible for performing audit functions on RA systems as required, reporting any anomalies
  • To be responsible for the analysis of data in the RA system and on the reports from it
  • Responsible for analysis of any issues with smartcard access and to make judgements on any issues and work to develop resolutions and recommendations to senior managers

  • To be responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of equipment and stock to carry out RA function

Responsibilities for Education and Training Responsibilities

  • The post holder will be required to provide awareness and training to staff, where necessary, in the use of the system tools made available to them e.g., Registration Authority / Smartcards
