Non-Executive Director

Job summary

Newham Health Collaborative (NHC), a Community Interest Company, is seeking to recruit a Non-Executive Director(NED) with a background in Finance. The post is being advertised, and the appointment will be considered by NHC Board, following a formal selection process.

The Non-Executive Director will ensure that the Board acts in the best interests of NHC and its service users, members and the wider public work, collaboratively with the Chair in supporting Newham Health Collaborative.

The Non-Executive Director will join NHC Board, which is made up of 10 members, 7 General Practitioners, one non-Exec Board members and the Chief Executive.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they meet the NHC NED competency framework for board members and evidence how they can support the CIC to develop and grow in its aim to promote the health of our community.

Main duties of the job

Support the Chair and Board to ensure the good governance of the organisation.

Assist the Chair and Board to ensure the quality and safety of healthcare services delivered by NHC.

Support the Board and Chair and personally commit to working to, and encouraging within NHC, the highest standards of probity, integrity and governance.

Assist fellow directors in setting NHC's strategic aims, ensuring that the necessary financial and human resources are in place for the organisation to meet its objectives.

Work closely with the Finance Director and the Chief Executive of the NHC to ensure good financial governance and oversight. (See Job description and Person Specification for more details)

Newham Health Collaborative CIC (NHC) is a GP federation representing all the GP practices within the Newham borough boundaries. This covers a population of approximately 400,000 patients. We are established as a Community Interest Company, wholly owned by our 43 GP practice members. We invest any surplus we secure into services for primary care and our patients.
