Job summary

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the clinical support team at our Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Service Centres to work with the local Commissioners to provide an excellent service to the community. This is a Band 7 role and is open to both part-time and full-time applicants.

We are a fast growing business and a leading provider of Healthcare Service solutions. We work closely with NHS and Social Care Organisations

Main duties of the job

The role:

  • Attend in person or remotely via video conference Equipment Evaluation Reviews and other meetings on behalf of Millbrook Healthcare, as requested by commissioner.
  • Work closely with Prescribers and Authorising Managers to promote effective partnership working across Adult Social Care, Therapy Services, Community Nursing, domiciliary care agencies, housing and other agencies as necessary
  • Support Millbrook Managers and staff in the promotion of the service across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (Health and Social Care, Private Care and Residential Homes & Voluntary Sector).
  • Provide specialist advice through evidence-based practice to Prescribers on the use of appropriate equipment, specifically in relation to specialist or complex cases.
  • Refer and signpost clients/carers to other support services where necessary (OT/ Physio, Falls Teams, Carers assessments).
  • Support the CES Team to develop clinical policies and operational procedures to increase consistency of approach and provision.
  • Attend Equipment Evaluation Reviews and other meetings on behalf of Millbrook Healthcare / CES Team, as requested.
  • Supervise the Therapy Assistant
  • Travelling will be necessary within this role across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes. It may also require travelling to other Millbrook Service Centres or Head Office on occasion.

About you:

  • A BSc degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy along withCurrent HCPC registration
  • Previous experience of working as an Occupational Therapist and prescribing Community Equipment
  • Experience of working with adults and older people with complex needs
  • Experience of clinical assessment and intervention including moving and handling assessments
  • Experience of staff supervision is desirable
  • Previous knowledge of the public sector would be an advantage
  • Current full UK driving licence is essential
