Job summary
We are looking for a Rehabilitation Engineer to join our Surrey Wheelchair Service team. This role involves both clinical and technical work due the variety of locations of which you conduct work in and meeting the needs and care of the patients in order to successfully prescribe them with the best postural management solution.
Working in an environment where our performance is continually monitored and reviewed by NHS Commissioners of the Service, everything we do has to be carried out with extreme efficiency and care given the sensitive needs of the Wheelchair Service users.
Main duties of the job
About you:
- Experience of working in a mechanical engineering workshop, safe use of hand tools and power tools.
- Computer literate and effective interpersonal/written/verbal communication skills
- Demonstrable knowledge and application of mechanical engineering techniques. Experience of working with wheelchair users.
- VRCT Registration
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (or, in the absence of this formal qualification, a minimum of 3 years experience in a Wheelchair Technician role or a similar position in the private sector.)
- Full UK Driving Licence
