Job summary
We are looking for a proactive and passionate Band 6 Nurse to join our Lung Cancer Screening team. The post holder will have responsibility of supporting the clinical leadership of the service. The primary focus of the role is to ensure the service maintains a high level of clinical quality while also ensuring eligible patients are referred for their CT scan in a timely manner. The successful candidate will support the service manager from a clinical perspective, ensuring statutory reporting is completed.
Main duties of the job
Support the delivery of training and induction for staff undertaking Lung Cancer Screening
Keeping Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) up to date / relevant
Quality oversight and supervision of HCAs and administrators undertaking checks including regular auditing/shadowing of screening
Maintain their own IRMER training and oversee the referral of eligible patients to the CT teams at both West and East Suffolk Hospitals.
Maintain communication and a strong working relationship with the CT teams at all three participating hospitals (Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, and Newmarket)
To be confident discussing the LCS service with both internal and external stakeholders from a clinical governance perspective.
To support the wider Public Health and Diagnostics Service team as required by the Service Manager.
To assist the Service Manager with any other duties where requested.
