Job summary
We are seeking a highly organised forward-thinking individual to join our 111 and ambulance commissioning team hosted by NHS Derby and Derbyshire ICB. The team provides specialist commissioning expertise on behalf of the ICBs in the East Midlands covering two regional contracts for 999 and 111 services.
The team is responsible for all aspects of Urgent and Emergency Ambulance and NHS111 commissioning, contracting, and assuring the delivery of services provided for the five county areas making up the East Midlands (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, and Nottinghamshire). As the Senior Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight of quality and safety of the Urgent and Emergency Ambulance and NHS111 services, providing assurance on all aspects of quality and safety. You will also provide assurance to stakeholders and seek improvements from the providers where needed.
Main duties of the job
To provide a lead role in quality assurance and quality improvement functions across Urgent and Emergency Ambulance and NHS111 for the East Midlands footprint. Provide strategic advice on quality assurance with regard to commissioned provision in order to facilitate improvements in service delivery and outcomes. The post holder will also support the direction of the quality performance monitoring of these ICB commissioned services to include direct remedial action plans and ensure their delivery. The post holder will be expected to work with and fully engage with, providers in the delivery of the national and ICB quality agenda to ensure delivery of agreed quality assurance processes including quality schedules, quality assurance reviews and reporting processes.
The Senior Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuringthe development and maintenance of effective systems and processes for quality assurance (including patient safety and clinical effectiveness) for designated provider contracts and support improvements, escalating appropriately where the required standards are not met.
The successful candidate must be capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines and possess excellent organisational and problem solving skills. They must have the ability to confidently engage with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
