Job summary

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Senior Finance Manager at NHS Derby & Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (ICB).

We are looking for a motivated CCAB qualified accountant, who is driven to succeed, thrives on leading improvement, and has a real commitment to work as part of a team to take the finance function forward. Our team focus is on using finance expertise to ensure we achieve best value for money within the resources available to us. As one of our Senior Finance Managers, you will ensure we have robust financial controls across the organisation, a consistent structure for decision making, and supported by your advice and guidance.

We are incredibly proud of the team spirit and support across our finance directorate. After achieving our Future Focused Finance (FFF) Level 1 Accreditation, we have a priority for personal and directorate development to strive for the highest standards of financial support for the ICB as a whole, and for the patients of our commissioned services.

Main duties of the job

In this exciting new role, you will have the autonomy to use initiative to improve financial controls, develop financial governance policies, implement audit recommendations and lead the delivery of key financial projects.

The role will be responsible for the Financial Control team; overseeing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury Management and the ICB's ledger integrity. There will be ample opportunities to manage projects including leading the delivery of the Annual Accounts and Inter-NHS balances.

About us

At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for you and for our patients, and for the organisation. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that's job share, part time or another flexible pattern. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.

The ICB works on a hybrid home and office policy.
