Job summary
Following the Derby and Derbyshire ICB staff restructure an important senior role has become available within the Pharmacy Directorate Team, which is part of the Medical Directorate. Supporting the Chief Pharmacy Officer and Associate Director of Pharmacy, you will be providing leadership to an experienced, redesigned, Pharmacy Team into our next chapter as an ICB, working with the wider healthcare system to integrate pharmacy and medicines optimisation.
Substantive, 30 hours/week
We are seeking an experienced and talented Pharmacist with significant leadership experience including managing teams, strategic development, financial management, building and maintaining stakeholder networks.
You will support the ICB Chief Pharmacy Officer, the Associate Director of Pharmacy and the work of the Medical Directorate in delivering high quality, safe and effective care across care pathways within Joined Up Care Derbyshire whilst delivering Pharmaceutical Population Health Management. This will require knowledge, skills and experience to:
Support the strategic development of medicines and pharmaceutical services to meet the objectives of the Integrated Care Board and system IPMO Board;
Carry responsible for the day-to-day management of the Pharmacy Directorate Team;
Act as an Assistant Director Lead within the developing local commissioning architecture across Derbyshire
Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
The postholder will be responsible for a broad range of complex disciplines requiring advanced specialist knowledge and experience. They will use specialist and professional knowledge to synthesise, evaluate and define pharmacy and medicines policies and strategy
Work with their Assistant Director of Pharmacy colleague to lead and manage the Pharmacy Directorate team, ensuring a 'One Team' approach.The Pharmacy Directorate Team comprises; Commissioning Outcomes Derbyshire Prescription Service, Governance, Implementation, Integration, Pathways, Performance, Policy, Productivity, Strategy; Pharmacy at Place
Support the Chief Pharmacy Officer and Associate Director to discharge their duties ensuring the ICB is fit for purpose with the relevant statutory Pharmaceutical Acts and Directions, and NHS Constitution for medicines and pharmacy decision making;
Provide strategic pharmaceutical leadership to ensure the development, implementation and assurance of the ICB strategy to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of medicines management and prescribing for primary care and across the wider health economy. Lead on designated functions and work programmes;
- Interpret national evidence and guidance on behalf of the ICB developing and overseeing implementation of policies which ensure ICB compliance with guidance/law.This will include advising on implementation in GP practices and other services commissioned by the ICB
