Job summary
The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board System Coordination Centre is seeking a Band 8a System Coordination Centre Lead (subject to confirmation of grading) to work within the SCC and across the UEC wider team taking the system learning and creating transformation and improvement opportunities.
The purpose of System Control Centres is to always ensure the safest and highest quality of care possible for the population by balancing the clinical risk within and across all acute, community, mental health, primary care, and social care services. SCCs will ensure a consistent and collective approach to managing system demand and capacity as well as mitigation of risks, and will lead and facilitate the system to deliver:
Visibility of operational pressures and risks across providers and system partners
Concerted action across the ICS on key systemic and emergent issues impacting patient flow, ambulance handover delays and other performance, clinical and operational challenges
Dynamic responses to emerging challenges and mutual aid
Efficient flows of information
The role will be predominantly office based, from County Hall Glenfield, but will be agile with the opportunity to work from several provider locations in LLR to build relationships and experience pathways first hand, gaining a whole system knowledge base.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hrs per week flexibly across Monday to Friday 08:00 - 18:00.
Main duties of the job
- Be responsible for the operational running of the System Coordination Centre
- Be responsible for building a combination of subject matter expertise and operational skill to enhance effective service delivery.
- Be responsible for implementing all national and local guidance and ensuring system assurance is established through clear actions and pre-set targets.
- Support the wider Urgent Care Team to deliver against national and local priorities to improve and transform urgent and emergency care for the population of LLR, driving better outcomes, improved operational performance and value or money in planning and commissioning.
- Work closely with a range of managers and directors for System Delivery to balance risk across the system in times of escalation.
