Job summary
The ICB Medicines Optimisation Team are looking to recruit a Band 5 Pharmacy technician which has arisen due to a vacancy within the team.
As the post holder you will be part of an experienced team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who work at system, place and neighbourhood level supporting all aspects of medicines optimisation linked to our medicines optimisation strategic objectives. Working with colleagues within the ICB vaccination team, you will also be actively involved in quality assurance of the vaccination services within LLR.
The post is suitable for a Pharmacy technician from any healthcare background who meets the personal specification and has the right level of experience.
A large part of the role can be undertaken remotely, although there will be the requirement to travel to our office base, vaccination centres and GP practices within the Leicester and Leicestershire Area occasionally on a weekly basis.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the job is to deliver the ICB Medicines Optimisation operational plan and provide expert evidence based, cost effective pharmaceutical advice, support and information to the ICB and stakeholders in line with the ICB System. Expectations include improving patient care and to ensure best value of the use of public monies. Specifically the post holder will be expected to:
Support the delivery of the Medicines Optimisation operational plan.
Support the ICB to meet its constitutional requirements including financial balance and quality improvement.
Provide data/ information to support work streams within the ICS.
Support primary care to develop, build resilience and improve quality of care.
Support the safe and effective delivery of the vaccination service though provision of expert advice.
