Job summary
Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Integrated Care Board (LLR ICB) is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer, due to the retirement of the current post holder. We have achieved much since our establishment in July 2022 and are now looking for an exceptional executive leader to enable further improvements over coming years. These improvements will be wide ranging- in the equitable delivery of integrated health and care services, in our focus on prevention, in our financial sustainability and in the broader local economic and social environment.
We are looking for an transformative and influential Chief Executive Officer to help us achieve our ambitions and who has experience of working across organisational boundaries and influencing a range of stakeholders to work towards a shared outcome for the benefit of service users and patients.
The CEO will be able to forge purposeful partnerships across the NHS and with the wider public and third sectors. The successful candidate will be able to focus effectively on immediate operational challenges whilst also driving forward complex programmes of strategic change. The CEO will, moreover, offer clear leadership to our ICB team to deliver a health and care system approach that tackles inequalities in health, delivers improvements to the health and wellbeing and experience of local people and provides value for money.

About us
The LLR ICB serves a large and diverse population - from some of the poorest areas of the country to some of the most affluent. LLR have a population of more than 1.1 million (360,000 people live in the city of Leicester and 40,000 in Rutland). We have two large NHS providers, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust alongside 127 General Practices and 26 Primary Care Networks. We work closely with a range of other providers such as East Midlands Ambulance Trust and a range of Local Government and third sector providers.
The LLR priorities are described in our Joint Five Year Plan. The plan sets out a number of pledges to our population and commits us to collective action to reduce inequity, to prevent ill health, to improve the accessibility of services and to modernise our care delivery models. The CEO will play a key role in enabling delivery of the ambitious goals which are included the plan. They will work in partnership- across LLR, but also through strategic alliances with neighbouring ICBs- to ensure we make rapid and sustained progress.
